The Campus Partners Student Advisory Board will sponsor a forum on public safety on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Campus Partners office, 1824 N. High St. All Ohio State students are invited to attend.
While fires, booze, and police-student relationships have been in the news, there also is concern about personal safety, burglaries and crime prevention. This is an opportunity for students to share their ideas, offer their criticisms and ask their questions to police officers and other safety personnel.
The following persons have confirmed that they will attend the forum:
1. University Police Chief Ron Michalec
2. Columbus Police Commander Jay Evans, Zone Four, Patrol Bureau
3. Mark Hatch, executive director, Community Crime Patrol
4. Bill Hall, chair of the Campus Partners Safety Coordinating Committee and
assistant vice president for housing, food services and event centers at Ohio State
5. Shane Hankins, former undergraduate representative on the Campus Partners Board
of Trustees, and Steve Leffingwell, president of Evans Scholars, who successfully promoted
the expansion of the "blue light" emergency phones into the neighborhood
6. Captain Wesley Fullen, Columbus Fire Prevention Bureau.
