This survey of Ohio State students was done to determine their attitudes about High Street adjacent to the university. The survey was distributed as a written questionnaire to students who attended open houses in early January 1999 with the developer teams for the University Gateway Center. Questionnaires were returned from 64 students, although not all students responded to each question. Some 62.5 % of the respondents live in the 43210 and 43201 zip codes, compared with actual enrollment figures of 40.9 %. Thus, the university residence halls and immediate neighborhoods are over-represented in the survey's responses.
The survey was developed by the Campus Partners Student Advisory Board. Data analysis and report production was done by Ron Meyers, graduate research associate with the Community Development section of Ohio State University Extension. Mr. Meyers' full report is available from Campus Partners at (614) 294-7300.
