To revitalize High Street at South Campus and create a lively gateway
to Ohio's pre-eminent public university, one of the nation's leading real
estate organizations has combined with two of Columbus' most highly regarded
developers to form an entity uniquely qualified with some of the best,
and most relevant, national and local development expertise available.
Further distinguishing the capability of this team is a nationally-recognized,
award-winning architectural firm with an unparalleled track record of
success in the planning, design and re-energizing of "main streets" throughout
the country.
LaSalle Partners, the Don M. Casto Organization and Arshot Investment
will collaborate on the redevelopment of High Street at South Campus.
Cooper Carry & Associates, of Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, will lead
the design effort with Columbus-based Sullivan Gray Bruck Architects providing
local residential design talent. Sasaki Associates, an internationally
renowned landscape architecture and urban planning firm, will round out
the design team with Judith Williams, a local historic preservationist
serving as a consultant.
The LaSalle/Casto/Arshot team brings demonstrated success in development
and redevelopment projects involving university settings, urban "main
street" mixed-use programs, historic preservation, public/ private partnerships
and the need for significant community involvement and interaction.
An entity with relevant local and national experience and deep Columbus
roots, the LaSalle/Casto/Arshot collaboration will combine a creative
vision with local market knowledge and sensitivity. These three organizations
boast not only strong development credentials but also lead their markets,
both locally and nationally, in leasing and management capabilities. This
is a team with a long-term vested interest in improving The Ohio State
University and City of Columbus environments. It also embraces the "main
street" planning and design principals critical to the success of this
redevelopment.
