Historic Preservation
Benjamin D. Rickey & Co. provides a full range of historic preservation consulting services. Formed in 1980 by Jeffrey Darbee and Nancy Recchie, a married couple, the firm prepares National Register of Historic Places nominations; conducts surveys and inventories to identify historic structures; assists owners and developers seeking approval for use of the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit; assists agencies conducting historic preservation reviews required in federally-assisted development projects; and prepares guidelines and conducts design review commission training for communities with local design review ordinances.
Benjamin D. Rickey & Co. clients include private property owners; business
owners; developers; attorneys; architects; preservation groups and agencies;
chambers of commerce; and local and state governments. The firm has worked
primarily in Ohio and South Carolina, with additional projects in Pennsylvania,
Florida, and New Jersey.
