Towne Properties, founded in 1961 in Cincinnati, is one of the Midwest's most honored developers. Over the past 10 years, the company has been involved in the development and financing of more than $250 million of real estate with a particular emphasis on multi-family and mixed-use projects. The company's successfully completed projects include complex, mixed-use, in-fill projects in both downtown and older neighborhood settings.

Towne Properties developed The Gramercy on Garfield, a $16 million mixed-use project in Cincinnati consisting of 148 market-rate apartments, 15,000 square feet of retail and a 429-car public parking garage. The project, which opened in 1992, was developed in cooperation with the city and received the Design Showcase Award from Units Magazine, published by the National Apartment Association, in 1994 as the outstanding new development in the nation. More recently, the company received the Preservation Award for outstanding building restoration from the Cincinnati Preservation Association for its renovation of the Groton Lofts, which consists of 42 market-rate lofts and a Redfish Looziana Roadhouse Restaurant.

Madison Marquette is a full-service real estate company with headquarters in Cincinnati. The company works closely with the public sector and its project designers to create special places that benefit the local communities and create value for their participants. As a retail developer, Madison Marquette specializes in new and redevelopment projects that balance traditional fashion merchandising with entertainment activities, lifestyle retailers, services and convenience for the customer.

Madison Marquette, in a joint venture with the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association, redeveloped a seven-story, landmark building at the corner of Union Square in San Francisco. The renovation was performed to allow the project to achieve Class 1 Historic Landmark Designation from the City of San Francisco. The building's retail is anchored by a flagship NikeTown. In another project, the company joined forces with three other prominent Cincinnati-based developers to respond to a "request for proposals" by the City of Cincinnati to develop Fountain Place. The key tenants in this $26 million project, which opened last year, are Lazarus Department Store, Brooks Brothers and Tiffany & Co.

The development team has selected a collaboration of Gruzen and Samton, based in New York City, and Michael Schuster Associates MSA, based in Cincinnati, as the project architects. Gruzen and Samton has extensive experience in mixed-use and residential work. MSA has particular expertise in retail and entertainment development.
