A committee is planning the annual Weinland Park Neighborhood Festival for Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the city’s recreational park between Summit and North Fourth streets and south of East Seventh Avenue.  (The park is behind Weinland Park Elementary School.)  The festival will include entertainment, games, children’s activities, information tables and food.

Last year’s festival drew more than 300 people.  This year, the festival is partnering with the Columbus Branch of the NAACP, which will hold a series of back-to-school workshops for parents in Weinland Park Elementary School during the morning of the festival.  As a result, festival is expected to draw even more people.

Joyce Hughes, president of the Weinland Park Community Civic Association, is chairing the festival planning committee.
