Outreach and Engagement at The Ohio State University

Outreach and engagement is not new to Ohio State.  Traditionally, however, the transfer of knowledge has been one way.  Today’s outreach and engagement at Ohio State means a commitment to sharing and reciprocity, which, in turn, means defining problems together, setting common goals and agendas, developing measures of success together, and pooling or leveraging funds.

Outreach and engagement at Ohio State is led by Bobby D. Moser, vice president for agricultural administration and vice president for university outreach.  He also is chair of the Campus Partners Board of Trustees.  Working with Dr. Moser are Karen Bruns, leader of outreach and engagement with Ohio State University Extension; and Barbara Millisor, program assistant.

Ohio State’s colleges, departments and offices are engaged with communities around the world, but one important partnership is with the neighborhoods around the university’s Columbus campus.  The Office of University Outreach prepares a periodic report on key Ohio State activities in the University District which are working in concert with the Campus Partners initiative.
