Highlights.

**Ohio State’s Outreach and Engagement during the Election.  Outreach and engagement involves integrating the university and community.  During this week’s election, a number of units are demonstrating how this integration can occur. The Moritz College of Law launched Election Law @ Moritz.  This project builds on the depth of election law scholarship in the college and Ohio's situation as a swing state.  WOSU will be the home of the University’s “Election Central” where media can access throughout Election Day faculty experts from Moritz Election Law, political science and departments.  These activities demonstrate how units can integrate their unique scholarship and the community.

**Outreach and Engagement Program Focus.  Over the past 18 months, University Outreach and Engagement underwent an internal and external review (much like academic units regularly go through).  The six review themes listed below will be major emphasis of our office over the next year.  You will hear more details about these themes over the coming year.

- Professional Development - Build capacity within departments to do engagement

- Structure - Expand formal and informal relationship with other departments/units/centers

- Programming - Catalyze, support, catalogue and publicize both cross cutting and department/unit outreach/engagement programs and their impacts.

- Administrative - Support policies and provide incentives for faculty, staff and student involvement in engagement

- Committees - Provide leadership, coordination, and support through University Outreach office and committee structure for engagement

- Funding - Diversify funding for engagement
