- Port Clinton
Performing Arts Festival – 2004 Excellence in Engagement Grant Supports
Inaugural Festival. Ohio State actors,
dancers, musicians, and other artists will take their show on the road to
Port Clinton for a new Performing Arts Festival. The three day
"sampler" will showcase the performing and visual arts in various
venues. Thanks to the efforts of the OSU Department of Theatre, Ottawa
County OSU Extension, and Port Clinton business leaders, the festival has
been developed to boost off-season tourism in the Lake Erie town and
capitalize on the region's affinity for Ohio State.
Organizers say their long term-goal is to expand to a full two weeks of
activities by 2006 and become self-sufficient by 2007. A roster of events
is available at: http://www.osupcperformingartsfestival.com/.
This partnership received a $70,000 grant in April from University
Outreach’s Excellence in Engagement seed grants program. To learn
more about the other three grants awarded, visit: http://outreach.osu.edu/Excellence%20In%20Engagement%20Grant%20Announcement.html
- September 17-19, 2004, Port Clinton.
- Share with the University Outreach and Engagement Office Your Recent
Achievements. This is a time of year in
which many units hear about funding for new outreach and engagement
initiatives and/or make plans to implement new programs this fall. Please
make sure and record those efforts in the Outreach and Engagement database
at http://www.osu.edu/outreachprojects/index.php
or send the information to our office at outreach@osu.edu
and we will enter for you. This database is regularly accessed by
individuals across the university and in the community to learn more about
