Steve Sterrett has been community relations director of Campus Partners for Community Urban Redevelopment, Inc., since its incorporation as a non-profit organization in January 1995.
Sterrett is responsible for Campus Partners' public relations, particularly with students at The Ohio State University and with the University District neighborhoods; communications, including publication of the organization's newsletter; news media relations; and staffing of public service and safety committees.
Sterrett first joined the Ohio State staff as editor of onCampus, the faculty-staff newspaper, in 1978. He served as news editor in University Communications from 1982 to 1984 and then as director of news services from 1984 until he joined Campus Partners. He previously was public information director for the Ohio PTA, a writer with the Ohio Department of Education, and a reporter and editor with a small daily newspaper in Fostoria, Ohio.
He is a former president of the Dennison Place Association, a neighborhood civic organization in the southwestern portion of the University District. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Heidelberg College in 1970.
He has three children.
