USG Involvement

Listening to Student Concerns

The primary impetus behind Ohio State's involvement in the revitalization of the University District is concern for the safety and quality of life experienced by students who live on the Columbus campus and in the neighborhoods around the university.  In its influential 1995 report, the university's Committee on the Undergraduate Experience reaffirmed the need to implement the Campus Partners initiatives.

The experience of students is at the heart of the Campus Partners planning efforts, and students have been involved with the development of the plan from its first vision workshop in 1995.  They continue to be involved and consulted as Campus Partners has moved from its planning phase to implementation.  Student participation comes through Campus Partners' Student Advisory Board, periodic forums specifically for students, internships and work-study opportunities, presentations to student organizations and surveys of undergraduate and graduate students.  For more information, click on the topics in the left column.
